Then, on page 39, read and copy the grammar connect table. (use of "must" and "mustn't"). After that, do activity 1.

*Remember: Must is a verb that means "what we have to do". It is very useful to indicate rules.

That's all folks!

Friday 24th April 2020

English time once more!

... And these are my answers to the last activities:

Workbook. Page 38, Activity 1:

- The children see how a tanker crashes into the rocks, near the reef.
- The tanker is huge and it is the most modern tanker in the world.
- The tanker crahes because there was a problem with the engine and they were very close to the rocks. They could not change its direction at time.
- The reef is very important because it is the home for millions of living beings. It is an essential ecosystem.
- I think they are a good team because they know how to collaborate.
- They are good team members because they can coordinate their help.

Activity 2:

- I think the best superheroin the story is... (example) Izo, because she can freeze the oil and it stops the spill.
- I think the worst person in this story is the captain, because he was not careful with his job.
- The funniest part of the story is when the instructor comes back at the end. Ha ha ha.! : )
- The most exciting moment is when the children transform into superheroes.

Activity 3: (Notice that this activity is a good example of how to write a bibliographic record).

- The title of the comic story is "Planet Defenders to the rescue".
- The main characters are: Izo, Mitsuko and Sorano.
- The story happens in Japan´s sea (possibly Pacific Ocean).
- The story is about a group of children that see a tanker having an accident into the rocks. As these children are superheroes, they have superpowers that help them solve the problem.
- Planet Defenders are heroes because they help in a catastrophic accident. They remove the oil from the sea and put it back in the tanker. They save the reef. And do it for free. ;)
- My favourite part of the story is the funny end. No victims. Just laughs.

Page 39, Activity 1

- Hugo isn't very well. He must go to the doctor.
- Katy is going to ride a horse. She must use a helmet.
- That water is very deep. You mustn't swim there.
- I must study hard to get a good mark in my exam.

Thursday, 7th of May 2020

Good morning ladies and gentlemen!

This is my example of letter:

Dear (friend's name),

If you are thinking about going on holidays to Cantabria, there's a fantastic place you must visit: Cabarceno's wildlife park. It is much more than a traditional zoo. First, it is so huge that you will have to spend several hours to see everything in it. Some animals live locked in very big lands where they can feel very comfortable. There are all kind of wild animals. Some of them run free through the picnic areas or paths. You can see exhibition of birds, reptiles and funny sea lions. There are cafés, bars and a restaurant, but there isn't any hostel or somewhere to sleep in. Anyway, it is very close to villages in Santander where you can find hotels, hostels or campsites.

And now it's going to be listening time:

Just listen to activity 1 on page 54 on your pupil's book. Then listen and write activity 4 (on your notebook).

Friday, 8th of May 2020

Charlie: You're right.
Jack: Do you know our town is going to enter a competition?
Charlie: What kind of competition?
Jack: For the cleanest and teh most beautiful park in the country.
Charlie. That's great. I think our park is the best in the world!

... As simple as that.
On your workbook, finish the page 41 just doing activity 3 (Investigate Japan)-

Charlie: We went to the Science lab with Mr. James. He's the person who teaches us Chemistry.
Sophie: And is it in your pocket?

Thursday, 4th of June 2020

¡Hello kids! Nice to have you here again!

Let's do the corrections. The sentences that I'm going to write are examples. You can have different ones, but they have to be done in the Present perfect tense: (It's very useful to learn the verbs list)

*Affirmative form: (Subject + have/has + past participle + complements):

- I have swum in the sea.
- I have seen a volcano.
- I have traveled by plane.

*Negative form: (Subject + haven't/hasn't + past participle + complements):

- I haven't played volleyball.
- I haven't made a video.
- I haven't sung in a show.

* Have you ever...? = ¿Alguna vez has...?

Still on ypur pupil's book, page 68. There it is activity 1. Listen and read it to check pronunciation. Answer the nine questions using the Present perfect tense. Do affirmative or negative sentences, depending on your own case. I will write my answers tomorrow.

I'll see you then! Take care!
